I would just like to say that Myth TFL was the most absorbing game I have ever played. Soulblighter is probably the second most. MTFL was best, but Soulblighter when compared to other games was quite, quite good.
Myth TFL freaked the hell outta me at first it blew me off my seat. I was completely absorbed in it. In Myth TFL the cities and legions of light were falling around you, battles were being lost, there was only a glimmer of hope...and you a mere computer junkie get to command the remnants of a once glorius army to victory or death.
I felt anguish when I lost, sure glory when I won. A point in the game which wasn't mentioned before that surprised me was the point where you, commanding a few dorfs must infiltrate a base and destroy a ****load of ghols. Now THAT was adrenaline. The first time I blew up the Godhead I had enough adrenaline coursing through my veins to wake up 40 herroin O.D.ers.
Another thing...you're actually surprised when you see Balor. You don't know what he REALLY looks like he's shrouded in mystery.
*anyway* Myth TFL was the most absorbing and complexly plotted game.

Okay I'll cut the crap. It wasn't as complex as Myth TFL, or as absorbing, that would be bloody hard to achieve. There were some interesting things (Cruniac, Deciever, etc.)
but there wasn't the feeling of being the last hope, in this you're a big force squelching an evil uprising (that is a bit of an understatement).
But look...the units aren't pixilated the landscapes are smoother, new units...better controls...fear and loathing... fire!...cannons!...castles and forts!...better multiplayer environment (laggier b.net :( )
IT HAS BETTER GAMEPLAY!
I tried playing TFL and found it inferior...it's hard going back. Looking back it was better, but playing it NO.
Myth II makes up for it's faults in plot, for it's strength in playability, units, and editors. Let's face it multiplayer is WAY better.
If it's story line you want go to Myth TFL (although the game is uglier and the controls are worse) If it's multiplayer and editing you want go to Myth II.
