Actually, one of the Myth 1 narrations DID say Balor had been killed before. It's a direct quote from Alric. Now maybe he was just dumbing down the whole thing, eliminating the whole Leveler concept because he thought his army wouldn't understand, or maybe he didn't know, etc. But he may have been right; Balor had alot of power and may have survived supposed death on many occasions.
