True, but I doubt the total destruction of the world is in the Deceiver's interests (if for no other reason than that he's not undead.) Balor's Dark was a much more orderly force than Soulblighter's...I think Myrdred may have seen it as simply a continuation of Connacht's rule of over the Cath Bruig--a dark and miserable empire this time around, perhaps an empire with little or no living humans, but still an empire with opportunities for political power and control.
SB's plans, on the other hand, seem to have been much more about just causing as much havoc as possible...unleash the Krids and, if that doesn't work, just blow up the world. Not much future in that, from Myrdred's perspective.
Also, of course, Balor was the Leveller and SB wasn't...Myrdred may have figured the Dark just wasn't the winning side anymore.
