: They were lovers. They had a kid, named Finn. God knows
: what happened to him. Last we hear of them--toward the
: end of Connacht's reign--Damas is going off to collect
: all the powerful magical swag and destroy or bury it,
: Ravanna's raising their child.
Ah, so Finn remains a mystery. As do the years between the beginning of Damas' crusade and his return as Soulblighter.

I'd be incredibly interested to find out what changed both of them. I'd imagine sheer heart-break on losing her lover (and who knows, maybe Finn as well), might have been enough to disillusion her.

: But then, Shiver's being pissed off by The Deceiver's
: needling about her relationship to Damas might mean
: she's decidedly not interested in such a relationship
: anymore.
True. Myrdred seemed to know a line to hurt every Fallen Lord. That's why I have a suspicion he has a large network of spies, and was aware of SB's escape after Balor's death.

: Regardless, I would imagine that any feelings of
: "love" a Fallen Lord can have are pretty
: badly twisted. That's like Satan having a beloved
: puppy.
True. But I'd say there would be some residual loyalty. They clearly have memories, and even if they don't love in a conventional sense, I'd assume that Damas and Ravannah (unless a wedge was driven between them) would still at least, on some level, have recollections of that.

I also think that residual loyalty was responsible for Soulblighter resurrecting Shiver. Surely a smarter strategic move would have been to bring back Bah'lal or another of the Fallen Lords. The Watcher, however, would have been my first choice if I wanted to win a war.
