In Response To: Damas and Ravannah? (Lord Raven)

: Having not played Myth III, I'm not entirely clear on
: their relationship. Were they lovers? If so, what
: became of them after the conclusion of the Wolf Age
: (in game terms).

They were lovers. They had a kid, named Finn. God knows what happened to him. Last we hear of them--toward the end of Connacht's reign--Damas is going off to collect all the powerful magical swag and destroy or bury it, Ravanna's raising their child.

: I can understand Damas and Ravannah joining Connacht when
: he turned into the big bad, but were they still
: 'involved' when they became Fallen Lords- or had they
: parted ways?

I don't think any of the games tell us this. If Damas was still out on his quest, could be he hadn't seen Ravanna in a long time.

: I ask, mostly because someone coming out of a long term
: and loving relationship generally has two reactions to
: the other person. It's either dislike, or like. The
: 'just friends' thing. Yet, aside from resurrecting her
: (which you could argue was to serve his own purposes
: more than anything), Soulblighter never really seems
: to care overmuch for Shiver.
: Hell, he intends to break the Lesotho Dam and drown her.
: So, assuming they're no longer 'an item', what
: happened to break them up? And why the complete
: absence of any post break-up residue?

Well, he is missing his face while she's a withered undead hag...I doubt looking at each other sparks much nostalgia. And who can say how love is expressed once you're a Leveller-twisted genocidal fiend? Maybe trying to kill the other person is all part of the fun. (Or maybe the narrator's exaggerating the likelihood of Shiver being killed by a flood.)

But then, Shiver's being pissed off by The Deceiver's needling about her relationship to Damas might mean she's decidedly not interested in such a relationship anymore.

Regardless, I would imagine that any feelings of "love" a Fallen Lord can have are pretty badly twisted. That's like Satan having a beloved puppy.
