Absolutely. I have no doubt in my mind that if Myth weren't an engine-based game but a real-world scenario, Alric wouldn't be so evenly matched to Shades in magical- and sword-power.
Kind of like how Archers slowly chug around in-game. C'mon! If they were real, they'd be running so friggin fast, considering they have no armor of any heavy kind. And they wouldn't have infinite arrows. And Trow would downwardly-slap far more often then they'd kick. And the Deceiver would use his Lightning Spell before getting killed by, say, a lone soulless on the Relic.
