: That assumes that the Binding Dream is the only
: mind-control spell. It could also be that, as was
: argued with the Dream of Unlife, there are minor
: spells that do the same thing but are far less
: effective/versatile than the Dream.
: I guess the question comes down to--are most magic spells
: just castings of a Dream at the power level of the
: user, or are Dreams automatically more powerful than
: all other spells and usable only by great mages?
: I tend to think the latter. The only spells we hear
: actually called Dreams are wielded by
: Shades/Avatara/Fallen Lords, and we've seen at least a
: few spells of lesser mages (like fireballs and
: confusion) which are named but not called Dreams. So
: I think it's fair to say that a non-Dream spell can
: have almost any kind of effect, though its power is
: limited. If Warlocks can Confuse without a Dream,
: surely the Baron can Charm without one.
It's so annoying how both of us can be right due to the lack of clarification in the details of the plot. But then again, it helps keep things interesting.
Everything is a moot point! Bah.. and I'm the type that likes closure...
