: I'm happish with that, I'd complain against GURPS and
: Chimera but it'd just go on and on and on.Though I
: would prefer that De Facto Canon be raised into
: Category 2, mainly because allot of GURPS stuff is
: bull, eg Segoth's head, stuff where there is no hint
: of in Myth, whereas the stuff from Myth III that's
: major is already well supported or is a logical
: conclusion from Myth I+II.
Except that Myth III ALSO has bull with no hints in the game, such as Mjarin, and Myth III even goes clear against canon materials (Trow being vs Leveller and Myrkridia) and all clear implications (the Smiths' relationship to the Spider Cults) in places.
And I don't see how any of this would suggest raising De Facto "Canon" into category 2. Nothing we write or make up, no matter how well-founded, can be counted as canon unless Bungie says so. Take Two could grant us Legal "Canon" status, but that's still category 3, Noncannon.
The main distinction between Myth III being cat3 and GURPS being cat2 is that GURPS was overseen and released under supervision of Bungie, while Myth 3 only has any claim to canoninity (is that a word) because the people who bought the franchise gave them the legal declaration of it. I mean consider - if someone had come here years ago and told you the Myth III plot as a "theory" at the Asylum, you really think they wouldn't have had it mostly torn apart?
