rand actually DOING something big with the one power and i was all like 'yay somethings happening'
...i am around 250 pages into the book, its slooow going
'im perrin trudge trudge trudge trudge, and my author Robert Jordan is going DETAIL EVERYTHING WE ALREADY KNOW ABOUT EVERY CHARECTER in my party because he has nothing else to do... *yawwwwwn* yar yar yar trudge, wow 200 pages we STILL havent come ANYWHERE NEAR our objective? Gasp!! thats 1/4th of the book wasted... and no mention of rand at ALL yet, except a "Mat knew it was rand, but didn't tell anyone because everyone is involved in such a convulted network of lies and there isn't a single true friendship anywhere at all in the book that all the mistrust is starting to drive me UTTERLY MAD..."

I heard that originally it was 3 books at around 3200 pages but the editors told him to expand and he did it the only way he knew, long needless detailing, doesnt he realize the people reading the 9th book have already read the first 8 and don't need you to point out the things again??
...for instance the first book "eye of the world" would have been around the size of the lord of the rings... and 1/3 of the original idea for the first book... but noooooh....
