Myabe it involves they way they were killed. shiver was "killed" in a dream dual, but she may have actually been sent into the ether, where as the watcher was actually killed useing traditional methods.

I think he is trapped, but not dead. I dont think he can die as long as his heart(and face?) is still in tact. Loose his body, maybe. But die? No, he is much to cleaver for that and would have planned ahead.

Yes, but if a peasant wondered into the temple, he would most likely be killed by some sort of trap. And even if he did not, he wouldnt know what to do with the artifacts. And if by chance he got one to work, he wouldnt be able to handle the power, and would go nuts or blow himself up. Needless to say, I dont think we have to worry about new charactors that had no power before come in because of the temple. Warlocks however, may have what it takes to become very large if one of them found it. Or Phelot. Or maybe even a myrk giant, if they are smart enough.
