LOL @ Muirthemne

I just watched the opening of "Redemption." During the cutscene, a flock of ravens (supposedly Soulblighter in raven form) flies over green trees. Then, after Alric is corronated the new Emperor of the Cath Bruig, we see a Bowman standing in front of (presumably) the same green trees. The journal entry indicated that the city of Muirthmne was then overrun by Myrkridia (including Myrkridian Giants, which we see for the first time during this level). During that part of the cutscene when the Bowman blows his horn, a Myrkridian Giant squashes him (I cried when I saw that :-). The implication is that the out-door parts of the cutscene are outside the palace of Llancarfan, or somewhere in Muirthemne; that Soulblighter is ominously hanging in the air overhead (as his ravens); and that the Bowman is signalling the corronation of the Emperor for all those not fortunet enough to be inside the place of corronation and see it themselves (as a ceremonial action, like any good kingdom would have going on for it). So…if the cutscene takes place both inside and outside the doors of Muirthemne/Llancarfan…why are there trees??? The Barrier hasn't had a lifeform larger than a small cactus naturally grow in it for over a century when Balor razed the Empire!

This is obviously just a little indiscrepency that Bungie forgot to double-check. Some things that could be argued so our heads don't explode:

-There is some kind of spring in Muirthemne, somewhere, which has sustained an entire forest…I didn't know that was possible in a city like Muirthemne. Maybe the Journeymen set up the well and planted the trees when the ripped the gold tiles from the walls and began their penance. …Yes. There first act of making ammends for the fallen Empire was to plant a little tree to make up for there crime…and then another…and then another…and another, until every one had planted a tree and felt all special.
…THEN they decided,
"Aw, dudes, this isn't enough. Our life was our Empire."
"Should we commit suicide?" querried Seven Devil Puma.
"SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN!" exclaimed the never-quite-fast-on-his-feet Five Rabbit Fleeing Jaguar, taking off his armor and setting his short sword up so he could fall on it.
Four Serpent Seeking Shadow looked about. "How about we just live our lives as warriors, even mercinary warriors, doing good and helping the innocent; training our selves to the skill level the Heron Guard Masters have of healing others? We could help the injured and sick while still fighting evil, potentially killing Balor himself for destroying Muirthemne in the first place!"
"No, no, no!" exclaimed Thirteen Wind Moon Stone. We have to WASTE our veteran talents and warrior abilities by becoming shovel-toting, medbag-carrying, peace-loving, tree-hugging, hundred-pound-tile-bearing, fat-assed, cloak-wearing, gardeners for ever and ever and die by the cleaver of a puny Ghol, once a creature which truly feared us, now our most terrible enemy!"
Everyone lifted short swords in praise and triuph, only to drop them along with armor into the dirt, next to the trees they just planted, running into Llancarfan to go a-tile-rippin'.

-Myth is bad (impossible!).

-The outdoor scenes are no where near Muirthemne or the Barrier, and that Bowman is just some poor, old archer who got left behind in the Province (since the entire population of the Province, including the women and children seen the cutscene, were brought with the legions under Alric where the Company + Trow meet up with Alric at Muirthemne). That poor, old guy must have been feeling pretty lonely right then…his army all gone or dead or Gods-know-what for all he knows. …And then Soulblighter shows up in the skies in raven form, he watching and feeding upon the pain and suffering of the loney Bowman, and had signalled one of his Myrkridian Giants to make an innocent guy's day go from bad to worse. …So, the Legionary Bowman, Leo (I've named him Leo), makes a final cry of loneliness on his old horn—the instrument he used to call for help so many times after abandoned and left behind by the Legions for dead (they thought he was a casualty, but he was merely knocked unconscious by a Ghol limb smacking him in the head).
Leo, his ears drowned out by his thoughts screeming "I'M SAD!" over and over, his head wading in feelings of pain and loss, doesn't hear the enormous, noisy, smelly, stinking, rotting, growling, creeking, loud, 5-ton Myrkridian Giant creep up behind him. When he looks back and sees vicious death grinning, it's already too late.
…Do not weep for Leo, though, dear friends. He was finally released; for that most baleful screem we heard when his bones were slowly, agonizingly, torturously broken—one after the other, again and again as his body begged for deliverance and release—crushed, cutting organ and flesh alike…that screem was a screem of joy, joy for the final lo(o)sing of his emotional pain and suffering on the Earth without his friends and human companions—the others killed back in Madrigal, each ripped apart and eaten while still alive and able to feel every bit of it—was all gone now. …May the gods bless you, Soulblighter, The Merciful.

Personally, I think it's more appealing logically to let our heads explode than to follow such an illogical train of thought. No?
