Muirthemne called Llancarfan in Myth III?

The RHL chat just reminded me of this. GURPS tells us that Llancarfan's name was changed to Muirthemne midway through the Age of Reason, when the Cath Bruig empire is founded; only the Imperial Palace retained the name. But the Myth III interviews seems to suggest that the entire city is called Llancarfan at this time. Did they have a "retro" period, or is the "Llancarfan army" simply named after the administration at this time?
