Shiver Conversation

We have talked about this in depth before, but never seriously. What exactly is Mydred insinuating with the "strange bedfellows" crack at the begining of 'Shiver'? There is certainly some kind of insinuation here, and it makes Shiver pretty angry.

As GURPS sugests, I think that Shiver was angry with Myrdred because he revealed that she was indeed Ravana, something that perhaps was not meant for mortal ears. And yet this still does not explain what the "strange bedfellows" comment was all about.

I believe that Shiver and Ravana are either different souls trapped in the same bodies that Shiver. There is a plethora of stories one could write to explain this. For instance perhaps there was once a great sorceress named "Ravana" who, upon being mortally wounded, forced her soul into the body of her apprentice (Shiver) who was more than happy to assimilate Ravana's power. Another example could be that Ravana was a great sorceress but a hideous one and thus chose the most beautiful maiden she could find (Shiver, who also happend to be a vain and powerhungry one) and entered her body without realizing that Shiver's soul would be strong enough to resist her's to some degree. Thus the "strange bedfellows" could be refering to Ravana and Shiver, two women with radically different personalities, sharing the same body as bedfellows share a bed.

Before you rebuke this as nonsence, consider Shiver's drastic moodswings and Ravana's alternate name, "The Voiceless One." he mood swings could be the differense between Ravana controlling and Shiver controlling. "The Voiceless One" could be taken to mean that, as Ravana's soul has no body of it's own, it does not have a true voice.

This is pretty far-fetched but I thought I'd just throw it out here for you guys to chew on.
