Yesterday's Asylum Night Was a Resounding Success, though I wish more of you could have made it. Hope we can get an Asylum night page up, with polls on popular subjects etc.
Asylum Night Q & A:
Someone pointed out the strange vein-like black lines on Twice Born. About to go off on some kind of insane rant, we quickly pointed out that Tharsis was nearby and so those were dried lavaflows.
Someone stated that Shiver and Dec. committed suicide since Shiv. didnt fight back. This was proved false since what really happend was that Shiver couldnt harm the Dec so was relying on Phelot and her myrks to kill him. However, Dec had converted Phelot who disposed of the myrks, allowing Dec to finish off Shiver. In some kind of emergency, death spell Shiver killed dec.
Theories and Questions:
On SHIVER, the Warlock Hero's text states that he attended the university of covenant, and gained position in the kings court. After much discussion, we didnt really come to a conclusive answer. However, my theory is that Myrdred was an Avatar of the duke or king or whatever of Covenant. Warlocks were the sholars and wisemen of Covenant. Myrdred took it upon himself to teech them the arts of magic and ancient lore. When the deciever turned to the dark, the warlocks, not wanting to attack thier home city of Covenant, but not wanting to fight the Deciever, fled high in the cloudspine and founded Scholomance, a sort of much like the bhuddist monastaries of the Himalayas, this place served as a university and fortress for the warlocks. During the entire great war, the stayed in Scholomance, safe from the wars of the world below. Finally, after the great war, they went about trying to rescue the Dec. from his icy prison.
On SHIVER if you zoom in on the Warlock Special item you find, you can see that it is really a replacement for the Lock's staff-tip. Upon close inspection, we noticed that the artifact was much more finely animated than the lock's staff head. It looks sort of like an angel with red bat wings.
Balmung, you find it in the Catacombs with the Ibis Crown. Is it an artifact? Is it the sword you see the emperor holding in the pregame art? Did SB destroy it? Well, we came to the conclusion that to fight such a powerful entity such as SB, it drains the power from the sword, and so needs a while to recharge.
If you read SB's flavor text youll find that his dark temple is located in the Untamed Lands. Not really too signifigant but nice to know.
Are Soulblighter and Shiver lovers? It certainly would explain why SB brought Shiver back rather than someone more powerful like The Watcher or maybe The Faceless Man or another of the missing Follen Lords.
