WW2: God's gift to Mythers or Satan's child?

A random musing,
How come WW2 Titans has been the only plugin to survive the test of time? It isn't the best made (think Creation's BUSHIDO), it isn't the most realistic (Civil War 1861 seems to claim that title), it isn't the best in terms of gameplay (I favor Wild West or BUSHIDO myself), so what's the allure? Could it be that deep at heart we are all just children who love to act out the toy soldier fantasies of our youth.

Doen't get me wrong, I think that WW2 is a very good TC, it's just that there are _much_ better ones out there, so why has it survived and not them? BUSHIDO was super popular a few weeks ago, but cruise b-net now and you won't find a single game (except maybe me playing the single player levels with it again, and again, and again, etc....).

Any thoughts, theories, hate letters, fan mail?
