Ok, I was just thinking about ages and eras and such, and I got to wondering, what was the first era like? How were things going back then? Who was the first Leveller, the first Hero, and what kind of armied did they use?
What we do know:
The Comet rose in the east.
Tharsis erupted.
The Leveller came from the east and the Hero from the west.
It was a Dark era.
The Trow ruled most of the world at that time, but didn't pay much attention to most of it.
The Myrkridia were around as horrible wild animals, but nothing too bad.
The Free Cities of the North had been settled by men.
Humans and fir'Bolg were enemies.
The Dwarves had no pyrotechnics.
The Oghres were slaves to the Trow.
The Barrier was a vast, temporate farmland, not a desert.
We know that Tireces' defeat of the next Leveller was the first time magic was used to immobilize him; so magic probably played a very small role in the first Great War.
Moagim's death "set the uneasy precedent that a Leveller's fate need not mirror his cause" - this could either be because Moagim was the first successfull Leveller in recorded history (the First Era was prehistoric), or because he really was the first Leveller to die and have his cause succeed anyway. I'd bet on the first explanation.
So, with this info, anyone care to write a little narrative about the First Era?
