As well as being our favorite female fallen lord, Ravanna is also a deamon in the 24000 verse "Ramayana". A well loved Indian epic.
It is a moving tale of Rama, the ideal king, and Sita, his faithful wife. Ravana captures Sita. In the end Rama gets Sita back and good triumphs over evil.
Though I dont see any similarity besides the name, I would have to dig deeper to find anything more. Prehaps ill skim through a (abridged DUH!) copy of the Ramayana.
Also, I think forest of Silicon mentioned the idea of a Creator, Preserver, and Destroyer. Well if your right that would be exactly like Brahma (the creator), Vishnu (the preserver) and Siva (the destroyer).
