Good Craziness

Forrest weighs in (finally)...

That dragon artifact in "Shiver" is not a dream, or the Ultimate Truth, is is just an enchanted staff-top for a Warlock to use (and no, it's not a bunny head). As for how it got there, remember that the Deceiver was hanging around Silvermines quite a bit during TFL, digging up the Watcher's arm, and that "Shiver" takes place in the badlands just south of Silvermines.

The Ultimate Truth is most likely not the unification of all 49 Dreams, but some philosophical/magical knowledge that gives great power unrivaled by all except Dreams. Remember, magic must be learned in Myth, you study it like you do science. This is most likely learning some secrets about how the universe works, and how to manipulate them to your advantage. Thus, if one knew the Ultimate Truth, how the universe REALLY worked in all its detail, then that would be some serious power. Kinda like being "The One" in the Matrix.

The Deceiver knows the Trow personally, either because he worked with Balor, who freed them, or because he worked with Connacht, who imprisoned them. (We know he worked with Connacht because Connacht is said to have imprisoned The Watcher, but the Deceiver is the one with the Confinement Dream).

There is lots of ice around the northern Trow lands. Their cities likely rested atop glaciers and such. Connacht is said to have "melted their cities into the ice" after imprisoning them inside the cities. This most likely means he used his big-ass fireball spell on them, melting the cities causing them to melt down into the glaciers.

Forest Giants kick Trow ass, but they didn't serve Balor because they are peaceful, tree-hugging, um... trees. And the Trow owed Balor one, for showing them mercy.

GURPS stats are worthless as they apply to a completely different system than Myth; though its story info is correct.

The Ibis crown is real. "Its wearer, if a mage, can cast Fear, Bravery, Berserker, Daze, Sleep, Peacefull Sleep, Madness, Nightmare, Loyalty, Charm, Emotion Control, or Suggestion, all benefiting from the crow's four levels of Power and all at skill 20." (that's a lot, in GURPS terms) "Any wearer will enjoy a +2 IQ up to a max of IQ 17. A Conceal Magic-20 spell gives any mage -10 to detect the crown's magical powers. The crown also has other powers, kept secret by the state." In other words, it gives the wearer Steve Jobs' patented Reality Distortion Field.

The cycle is broken, unless Alric dies real soon now, and even then it's rather fux0red. Balor was supposed to defeat Alric and crush the light at the same time that he razed Muirthemne, then died himself; and the comet should have appeared 50 years earlier to herald HIS arrival. Instead, it took 50 years for him to finally crush the Light, but then the Head showed up and turned the tables. Alric killed Balor and survived, the era has become one of Light instead of Dark, and the comet was 50 years late. Soulblighter, if anything, was trying to set the cycle straight. If Alric dies soon and this becomes an era of Dark, then the cycle is back on track, but thus far it has been fux0red and nothing can change that.
