Just wondering what the "truly staggering power" was that
the Ibis Crown was to have given the wearer.
After Alric is crowned, a few dozen myrkridia appear, and
the Heron Guard have to save the day - if only a handful
of krids get through, Muirthemne is doomed. Not much power
on evidence there.
When we next see Alric, at the Foot of Tharsis, he is
powerful only due to Balmung. Within Tharsis, where he
forgets to bring the sword (doh!), he's back to the
dispersal dreams he had in Madrigal, and a bit of magic
to break off a hunk of rock.
So ... was the Ibis crown truly powerful, or was it really
just a hoax to prop up the ailing Cath Bruig empire?
