Bad craziness

A few questions about the "Shiver" level:

1) Did the Deciever die at the end? Every time I play it he walks right up to her, sucks out her life and then gets reduced to little pices by her explosive death. The GURPS book says that he is still alive and in the storyline after the level there is no mention of him. If he HAD died you might think that the journal writer would have at least mentioned this, as it is the passing of another fallen lord (or former one). I also think that the deciever could have gotten away. We know he can teleport himself and large groups of people and I just don't think he could be killed by the weakest (in my view) of all fallen lords, shiver. He was able to nearly destroy the Watcher, and this is how he meets his end??? It doesn't make sense to me!

2) What is that little dragon artifact in that level that makes your Lock Hero able to shoot four or five fireballs at once (if you don't know where this is, It's in the middle of a pit on a pedestal of rock, as you move towards it from the west, a bridge of stone rised up under your feet and you can pick it up)? Is that the "Ultimate Truth"? If not, and just a Lock Artifact, what is it doing there? The place where we see the most Warlocks is in the Mountains, going to the deciever, why is one of thier artifacts sitting in the middle of the desert?

3) Though this question doesn't actually have to do with the Shiver level, it does have to do with the decevier. Why do the trow know and respect him? In TFL I think he used almost exclusively thrall and souless. Before that we know that he was allies with the warlocks and before that the trow were still entombed in thier cities of ice. When did he get to know them? We also know that in the first war he spent most of his time hanging around the mountains and the west, never that far into Trow lands. Hmmmmm...
