We're back! I've been wondering about a few things in this server's long absence.
For instance, why does the Deceiver die? We aren't given hints anywhere as far as I can tell. It's never even mentioned. Ravanna was a small potatoes sorceress as far as I can tell. Nothing to be laughed at by ordinary humans, but no match for most of the Fallen Lords. Yet, when she dies, she somehow takes the Deceiver with her. To make matters worse, in the journal entry for Twice Born, the narrator mentions that Soulblighter can't escape because the Deceiver has one of the crows. That would imply he was still alive.
Also, what's the deal with the Summoner? He was obviously pressed into Soulblighter's service. Was he actually a decent guy who was a victim of fate? The narrator seems to feel the need to justify killing him. Or was a a evil type who didn't want to play subordinate?
