"of the Scholomance"

If you look in Myth 2 or head over to the encyclopedia, you'll see that warlocks are "of the Scholomance". While I think this could easily be a city or area in the myth world, the wording in comparision to other flavor texts leads me to believe that the Scholomance is something different. My two best guesses are that it's either a university/library (as in, a place), or a "school or learning"/study.

Taking a look at the two parts of the word, you have "scholo-" which is "of learning, knowledge" (words that have similar roots are scholarly and scholar), and "-mancy", which means "divination". Seems to me like the warlocks could be (and likely are) from many different places, and are simply scholars of divination. It's further likely that they would have studied at places like the Great Library and the University of Covenant.

So, I guess if you want to take it further, I'd put a bet on it that most warlocks were actually from Covenant, and that Balor and The Deceiver lured them away from there after the destruction of Covenant with promises of increased knowledge.

How's that for interesting?
