The Fallen sorcerors and Myth races

Hello everyone thanks for reading this post (3/11/00)

Ok first, I'm sure we all know about arguements dealing with the Fallen Lords' names. The following is a simple list of all the Fallen Lords as I have heard (by the way the names that are in parentheses are ones that I have heard about but not actually seen - and no I don't have that Gurps game but I will soon, once I see the names written down then I'll come back and remove the parentheses for you! :) *inhales deeply* here it is folks:

1) Damas- Soublighter- Twice Born- (Anshar, Patron of the Hanged)
2) Shiver- Ravanna- (Culwyeh- The Voiceless One- Mother of Plagues- First Lady of the Fallen- Loveless Child of the Unwed Dawn)
3) Myrdred- The Deceiver- Source of the 500 Poisons
4) The Watcher- Mad Goat of the Fens- (Bahl'al)
5) (The Lurker- Bheil- Bonesplitter)
6) (The Faceless Man)

I'm assuming I can see those names in parentheses in the Gurps book (game, file, whatever). Like I said when I do I will post a reply to this and correct it.

Now for the part about the races.

First of all I think that "Cath Bruig" is not a separate race. They are humans to me. Think about it: The Greek Empire, the Roman Empire, these are all empires of one race. This applies in Myth as well since no one actually says that the Cath Bruig is another race (that's all we need, another race in Myth!). Anyway that's my most faulty arguement. Don't quote me on that one.

But here is one I'm sure of: the Myrmidons are not really Undead. Yes the Myrmidons. Let's start at the beginning. These creatures were a totally different race from the others, and one day Balor comes along and says something along the lines of "I'll give you eternal life if you serve me". The males of that race agree, and live for many years even after their families lived and died - this is why they are called the Kithless. Not only are they forced to serve Balor forever and their families dies, but they also realize that Balor tricked them... eternal life, not eternal youth! This is why they are rotting, not because they are Undead! So their bodies age as normal, decaying at a certain age, but because of the spell that Balor gave them, they cannot die no matter how much they rot. So technically they are not Undead (maybe they are undead when it is defined as a Fear or Loathing term, but not as a reincarnated dead body, since they are just a body that's been around for some damn long time!). I honestly don't know that if in the game they can go underwater, but if they could that still wouldn't make them undead because they live eternally in their rotting bodies even underwater because the only way to kill those suckers is violence - just like a Journeyman or a Heron (same thing by the way if you didn't know). Got it? :)

One more thing to say: the following characters are dead for good (if they aren't they should be): Soulblighter, The Deceiver, The Watcher, Shiver, and Balor. If these characters come back in some future Myth scenario, it would ruin the whole Myth experience (how corny could you get anyway? bringing back dead characters... heh). I seriously hope the doods at Bungie don't include these guys anymore. As for the other two Fallen Lords, they should be dead as well. Why? Well in the Myth instruction manual it is stated that "...most of the Fallen Lords were soon hunted down and destroyed by Alric's armies." Soulblighter was thought killed and so was Deceiver, but they turned out to live still. And so did Shiver. These three were DEFINITELY killed in Myth II. And we all saw the Watcher die when we played "The Watcher" in Myth TFL. So that leaves the two others. All I ask is that they were the ones who were ACTUALLY killed after the Great War. Killed for GOOD. Sure it would kick butt to see these guys, but not still living in a continuation of the Myth series. I mean really guys, come on. Many people are sore over Myth II and though I am not one of them, if Myth III has and more Fallen Lords in it, Bungie can expect one less sale. Let the dead STAY dead for once!

Also, like any story, a plot needs at least ONE forever benevolent character. An all around good guy. If Alric becomes the next Leveler, not only would that DuKe the latter statement, but it would make Myth II seem like it never happened. Soulblighter's death (to me anyway) means one thing: the permanent destruction of the cycle of Dark Age and Golden Age. Let the Myth universe live in the Golden Age for good. Let the poor people of that world have a happy ending.

I hope you had a good time reading this fellow Myth fans and feel free to post a reply.

This is Welly, sig(h)ning off.
