So, here's a hot topic for you, though it might have been discussed before. Let me see if I can bring this together...
The Deceiver (aka Big D) was powerful enough to capture part of Soulblighter's essence and thereby weaken him. That means that in simple math, Myrdred is more powerful than Damas. But big D is captured by SB. How? By an elemental (the hand sticking out of the ground on "Murder of Crows").
Common logic suggests that elementals are summoned. Soulblighter most likely didn't summon it, or the text would have said so (Bungie tradition). Also, if he had this ability, he sure as hell would have used it before. Perhaps the "Summoner" could have, but he had been killed in the previous level in M2 (Inside the Tain).
So... could it have been "The Lurker"? We know that the Fallen Lords each have their own little powers and abilities. Summoning elementals is not something we come across anywhere else. What if "The Lurker", who has at least some elemental control (Bheil, twice-born daughter of flood and famine) was the one that brought the elemental around to help capture big D?
I don't have GURPS Myth (yet, if ever), so all of this I'm just picking up from my Myth Study™ and tossing together. Toss it some more at will. ;-)
