Official AN16 Report

Asylum Night 16 began with Forrest, Nick "Plague Bearer" O'Keefe, William Att[GAH!mumble]... ok, William WALLACE, Smeagol, SiliconDream, and ƒƒ guests Vincent Valentine and Professor Gast.

Nick, having a cable modem, hosted up a game. But he didn't have Homelands, which we all wanted to play, so he went to download it. Being on a cable, that didn't take long, so we waited for him (actually, we thought he had crashed, as we all lagged out of the game chat).

In the meantime, we talked about our eRPG characters. Will posed the question of whether there are dragons in Myth, and SiliconDream answered in the affirmative. Then Nick came back, and hosted up a game of Homelands. Most people quickly went OOS, but the remainder rushed in and set themselves up for death, which came quickly but not without a fight.

Next game, a few people like WW and Forrest lagged out in game chat again, while the rest went on to start the game but got stuck at "waiting for Forrest" for about five minutes. Then the game actually started. Then it ended, but it didn't open again. Then it started again. Then it vanished.

Then we decided Nick wasn't such a good host after all. So Vince hosted instead. We went on to play Homelands again, and won!

Professor Gast left. We talked about our units and the Great Escape. SD suggested a unit-power cap, and we came up with lots of ideas for the Great Escape. Then we played Morte Della Luna, and lost.

Tleilaxu joined. We played Morte again, but a Warlock tried to fire through a dorf and decimated almost the entire ranged arsenal. We continued and did ok for a little bit, and then died.

So we tried again. And lost again. Will and SD brought up the issue of perhaps changing the MC/RC attribute of the eRPG. Then we tried Morte one last time, and won! With enough forces left to have a big duel with eachother at the end!

Then Will, Sili, and Nick left. Forrest, Tleil, Vince, and Smea went on to play Homelands again, since Tleil missed it the first few times. We lost, as expected. But then Vince set it down to Timid, and we whooped ass the last game.

Tleil had to go, and Forrest was watching StarGate and didn't want to play anymore, so Vince and Smea went their own ways, and AN16 ended.
