Fir'Bolg, Mercs?

I was playing "Seven Gates" a little will ago when I read one of my archers flaver texts. It reads " Although the ghols where afrd to kill him after his capture at Myrgard...The dislocated his arms at the sholder so he would never string a bow again."

Myrgard?!? What was a Fir'bolg doing that far from the Ermine at this time? The dwarven citys where captured nearly 50 years (useing GURPS time line here) before the bowmen joined the lights opposition to Balor.

I can think of two plusable explanations.

A) A group of traders were in the Dwarven kingdomes when the Ghols overwelmed them. I cant think of any reason why they would even assosiate with the dwarves, who would seem to represent what the fir'bolg fear most, development.

B) The bowmen where hired mercenarys payed for by the dwarves to supplement their failing defences. It is conceaveable that as skilled archers such as the Fir'bolg would fetch a high price with the regular armys of the civilised nations.

Just a thought. What do you think?
