I think I made a bit of a mistake when I said that people should start making backgrounds for their RPG characters. It seems that people have felt inclined to write paragraphs about adventures their character has gone on, interesting people they have met etc. This is not a good idea. If you want to meet interesting people then you do it in the actual game, not in the background of your character! This doesn't mean that you have to start off very young, there could be many reasons why characters havn't been out in the wide world much. And people have been talking about characters who, although are weak, can fend off several enemies at once!! (HELLO SIGMA!) I think maybe you should wait until I get the rules out before deciding on backgrounds, and think about what I've said (now go to your room!).
Adventure happens in the game, not before it!
