Minor suggestion for eRPG

I suppose I should have mailed this to WW instead of filling up the forum, but I wanted to see what everyone else thought. If it's already included in the eRPG, please let me know and mock me to your heart's content.

Just a suggested addition to the advantages/abilities/skills: the ability to temporarily redistribute the points of your character between certain attributes and abilities in-game.

As an example, consider someone who, being a mutant or a robot or (in the Myth world) an archmage, can consciously alter the structure of his nervous system, building or destroying neural pathways at will. Such a person might choose to, say, restructure parts of his brain ordinarily used for abstract thought so that they could be employed for sensory processing instead--his "intelligence" would go down but his senses would be sharpened. In GURPS terms, this person would be allowed to lower his IQ attribute by one unit, and put the resulting surplus points into boosting his Alertness advantage. Or think of a shapeshifter, who might want to thicken his skin, lowering his DEX and using the surplus points to raise his DR. Or a cyborg, who can insert chips into his brain to temporarily give himself new knowledge but only has room for one chip at a time, moving points from one mental skill to another depending on which chip he's using. That sort of thing.

Obviously such an ability shouldn't be free; its cost should depend on how many attributes and abilities the character can move points between, and on how quickly the movement can take place (reading the skills from a chip might be nearly instantaneous, while growing thicker skin might take days). Anyway, I think this ability would enhance the RPG experience. I wasn't planning on giving it to my current character Ieuan, but I had ideas for a couple of other characters that could use it. Tell me what you think.
