The Deceiver and Alric (continued from below)

Okay, since the other thread is getting kind of long, I'm starting this new one.

Now, I'll restate my idea...

The Deceiver is out and about near the edge of the East side of the Cloudspine. Alric is told by the Head to travel over the Cloudspine and find the suit of armor and lands near the D's camp. The D either already allied secretly with Alric or became allies at some point in Alric's "capture".

Now there are two possibilities of what could have happened.

1. The Deceiver was working with Alric all along and they took that few week period of "captivity" to make plans and coordinate ideas. Perhaps the Deceiver gave him the location of the Eblis Stone. Or, the Deceiver gave Alric the information about the Watcher and how easily he can be killed if they used his bone against him. If the Deceiver could not find the arm he wanted the Legion to have the power to destroy his most hated enemy.

The Deceiver reported to Balor that he captured Alric but soon lost him through an amazing escape (or rescue). The D placed him in the containment field in order to keep the idea of capture alive. The heroes rescued Alric and he explained to them what happened to him. He made up the story about the interrogation and perhaps started the feud with the Head for some ulterior reason. Alric told the Legion that through his capture he learned that they need not worry about the other Fallen as long as Balor is killed, so therefore the Deceiver is spared. As luck would have it, the Watcher attacked the Deceiver and may have threw their plans off.

So, the Deceiver was missing but Alric knew of his location. He sent the Legion up to find his scepter and his body during Myth 2 and the Deceiver joined (back) up with Alric.

Or...

2. The Heads sends Alric over the Cloudspine...blah blah blah...the D captures Alric and sees this as his chance to turn the tide of the war and ensure his own life. He takes on the role as Balor and interrogates Alric, letting the info about the Fallen being tied to Balor out by "accident". Now, he doesn't want Alric to die because Alric *must* escape in order to report back his findings so he allows Alric to be rescued rather easily. Now, the D is not a focused enemy and the Legion shifts its attention towards chopping the head off of the snake.
