I still think that the Head and Soulblighter were working together in some
way, whether it a minute or outright one. Not because of the events that
transpired when both the head at Soublighter were Leiutenants.
We know that the head didn't like Balor, but did work for Connacht. So it is
somewhat safe to assume that the head and connacht/balor didn't get along and
the head probably did something stupid (betrayal type stuff) and got himself
confused. Now we also know that soublighter was a lieutenant of Connacht, most
likely known as Damas.
It is probable that Dumas and the head didn't like Balor and conspired against
him together, but when Balor find out and turned the dude into the head, Damas
escaped...performed his self mutilation ceremony and whola! became
Soulblighter.
Most likely at this point Balor caught up with the Fallen Lord Formerly Known
As Damas, and essentially enslaved him. Now it is the 17th year of the war,
and the legion finds the lost head that balor got rid of (now soulblighter
could have even arranged for the legion to find the head, that i have no idea
on), so soublighter hooks up with the head and we get myth: the fallen lords.
That is my theory on the head, i do not think he wrote the codex or the
journal. The Codex is to much of a magical object that was written by a
secluded wizard in a time of peace, thinking it would never be used for wrong.
Or it could have even come out of Muirthemne, that is also entirely possible.
-Arc
: Jeff, you're getting the Codex mixed up with the journal.
: The theory is that the Head wrote the CODEX, not the
: journal.
: (ha-ha!)

: Ack, no! He's not saying the Head wrote the journal, he's
: saying he wrote the Total Codex! That book you have to
: do retrive on level 4, Myth I, "Homecoming".
: The book in which the journal writer reads about the
: Summoner, ressurecting the Myrkridia and all that rot.
: I wonder if he ever did destroy the Codex.
No he didn't, The Codex turns up again briefly (as does the journal writer's
journal, found in Baron Kildaer's library... That was a cool part,
: While I'm here, would anyone with Myth II answer a quick
: query? Does The Head make any appearance in Myth II?
: Not asking what it does, if anything, just if it does
: something. Or is mentioned somewhere.
The Head is only mentioned in passing, when it is talking about Shiver.
"...I believe I have read of this in the journal. Shiver was defeated at
Madrigal by her own vanity, thanks to advice given by the still living head of
one of the Fallen LordsĖ old enemies. I wonder where the head is now; we could
certainly use the help..."

Also, from the manual glossary:
Rabican
One of the Nine. During the war of the Fallen, Rabican faced Shiver in the
Battle for Madrigal, casting her down in a terrifying dream dual using secrets
revealed to him by The Head
Head, the
A severed head animated by its own arcane magic, it was discovered buried
under tons of sand and rock and claimed to be one of Balor's ancient enemies.
Providing the Nine with dubious advice, this enigmatic being sowed strife
among the Nine, resulting in their downfall before vanishing once again into
the mists of history.
Shiver is not mentioned in the glossary...
In the prologue...: "...A severed head that spoke, lies slipping through its
lips to an audience that would soon be dead?..."
Thats all I could find in the manual...

I believe that the Head is actually a puppet being controlled by the Deceiver.
To substantiate this claim I have amassed a list of reasons:
1) The Head assisted the Light in defeating Shiver. Perhaps the Deceiver had a
grudge against her as he had with the Watcher or else he did not want Madrigal
to fall just yet.
2) The Head next tells you to get the Total Codex from the city of Covenant.
Perhaps the Deceiver does not want his enemy, The Watcher, from obtaining it.
3) The Head also tells you to destroy a world knot since the enemy now knows
how to use them. What we see from this point in the war is that the forces of
Light have secured the Cloudspine and only the Watcher remains on the Western
side. Maybe the Deceiver hopes that the Watcher will be cornered by the Light
and destroyed. Without a World Knot he would have no means of escape.
4) The Head tells Alric to search the Barrier for a suit of armor. This
results in Alric being captured, his army destroyed, and the armor being given
to Balor. This was all accomplished by the Deceiver and his forces.
5) The Head turns many of the forces of Light to its side when the civil war
breaks out in the west. This can also be seen in the level Shadow of the
Mountain. The Deceiver has the power to convert enemy troops so this power
would also be passed onto the Head if he were controlling it.

*sigh* All THREE of you don't have much evidence. The Head is obviously a
mystery, but some people just HAVE to have some sort of plot info about him,
and they will grab onto whatever theory they can. Why don't people just accept
the fact that there ARE SOME things in Myth & Myth II's plot that aren't/can't
be explained? Why do they come up with weak theories that have a 7% chance of
being true? Now I know why they call this place the Asylum...
Don't get me wrong, there are some areas of the Myth/Myth II plot that are
_supposed_ to be filled by the player (and have), but some people try to fill
the bottomless pits of the plot (like explaining who the Head is).
Not that I'm trying to offend, discourage, or otherwise insult anyone here...
(if I have, whoopsie)

Your theory doesn't seem to be getting much support (I offer none either). All
of you who have replied have ignored the most obvious flaw in the Deciever
Head Theory, The Watchers Arm. If the Deciever was controling the Head, why
would he let the Legion run in and get it, and if so why didn't he already
know where the hell it was. As was dictated in the journol the Deciever had
been looking for the arm all summer. I doubt that he was planing on letting
the Legion take care of the Watcher (If you want somthing done, you got to do
it yourself).

I think its the Deciever's troops that guard the Knot. The Watcher is still
too far behind you.

Good point. Makes the Deciever look good in Balor's eyes.

Of course, the people defending the head may think that the Nine (in Alric's
absence) may be trying to seize power for themselves by killing the head.
I think that the best theory is, of course, my theory of the head, that is
down the index a bit. It's entitled "Bonesplitter and the head" and argues
that Bonesplitter is the head. (yes, I realize this is a shameless plug for my
theory but I don't care)
