GURPS Summary...

I would love to begin debating about a million and one ideas from GURPS, but I am going to wait until others get their copies in the mail. For your benefit though I will outline some imortant areas for you to note.

The beginning sections of GURPS are filled with information galore. It tells the significance and history of many places and events. The sidebars themselves hold a plethora of goodies to marvel you brain upon. Next comes the explanation of Ages, that was started in the thread below. This proved to be one of my favorite sections although it added little in terms of fact to my already braod knowlede base, a good read none-the-less.

The next couple of section dealt with creating a character. Each tempalte held some race/unit specific goodies for us, including rank standards among warlocks/herons, etc. Very critical for more intense campaigns. The technology pages were a little unusual in that there were some name dicrepencies among the important artifacts. Of note was the spelling of Trabist's Mirror on page 85. Minor of overall effect, but still an important discrepency. This area also explains the schools of the Heron and Warlocks in further detail (very nice!).

My absolute favorite section was the Archmages section on page 94. It reveals things like powerful Dream types as well as who Shiver was and her history. It also tells of the histories of the other Fallen Lords. Just to let you know the truth of the Shiver debate, we were both right. Bungie took the sneaky way out and Shiver was reincarnated about two or three times, making her one of the more ancient Fallen (told ya so!). Anyhow she has a critical dual identity to understand so please read more about her and the other powerful Archmages of the world, including both the Light and the Dark forces.

The remainder of GURPS explains more RPG style campaigns, but has some very important ideas included in them. Check out the Campaign Seeds listed on the sidebars of page 106 and 7, especially The Final Act campaign that has some nifty ideas as to who Alric is the reincarnation of.

All in all GURPS Myth included a ton of information. I hope that whoever gets their copies can help in uncovering the truths of Myth without causing a panic among the inmates. Please try to be clear and precise with your information and list page references whenever possible. In terms of listing topics to discuss, there are about 50 I would like to start, but am waiting on. I hope that we can take the book in order, that way we can provide a section by section analysis in order to make referring to pages easier. As you can see by my brief run-through the ideas are grouped together nicely and I would like to see them stay this way. There is just too much new information to do them all at once, so lets start with some and work towards others.
