Cmn the Myrkridia killed so many humans that they had to build pyramids from their skulls. They erased entire armies and cities. Even had they come out of the Dire Marsh only ONCE a YEAR to hunt and to destroy...... how can there be an age of light if at least once a year monsters come and devastate a whole Province?
Another thing: If there is indeed 500 years of light and 500 years of darkness - What is the trigger?
The hero kills the Leveler - begin of 500 years of light.
500 years later beginning of an age of darkness?
But the next Leveler has still 500 years to go - so what event triggers the age of darkness?
Concerning Balor and the ages: An age takes as long as the Leveler is around. So if the Leveler is defeated in like 10 Years that the era/age was 1010 years.
If the Leveler is so powerfull that u need some 300 Years to destroy him the age/era was 1300 years.
So since a Leveler gets more and more powerfull each millenia each age/era takes longer.
Tireces was a poet and philosopher - he returned as Moagim who was defeated pehaps after 10 years.
Connacht was a warrior. He returned as Balor and was defeated after perhaps 50 years.
Should Alric - a warrior AND powerfull magician- return as the Leveler, then to defeat HIM would take perhaps 100 years.
So to say an age/era is 1000 years and/or 500 light and 500 dark is not convincing anyway
