Ok guys, I know this is quite a few years late, but here is why Mjarin is the leveler:

First, let me say that Myth III leaves a lot to the imagination, even moreso than the original Myth storylines do. So if we take what the makers of Myth III have given us (some of which makes sense), and add to the missing bits, we can come up with a decent theory.

Remeber, the leveler has to be the hero who saved the world from the dark 1000 years before. Tireces defeated the leveler before him, and 1000 years later came back as Moagim to wreck havoc on the world.

Moagim was then drawn and quartered, I believe, but by whom this was done we don't know. It's not mentioned anywhere in Myth III, unless I missed something.

Moagim could not have been the leveler again, because he would/could/did not save the world from the darkness that he brought upon it.

So 1,000 years after Moagim is defeated (by who knows who), darkness comes again to the world of Myth. The hero this time is Connacht. But who is the former hero who defeated Moagim and is now the leveler? There is a gap there.

It must have been Mjarin, under a different name, who was the hero who had defeated Moagim, had disappeared (as they usually do), and had come back to be the leveler as the emperor's advisor. Yes, he's a lame character as portrayed in Myth III, but it's an intriguing thought and it works.

Once Connacht defeats Mjarin, he reigns and 1,000 years later becomes the Leveller. So, everything works out.

For some reason, though, no one remembers that it was Mjarin who was the leveler. Maybe Connacht wanted all traces of Mjarin and the real leveler to be wiped out from memory, one last way to swipe at his archenemy (this is where we get to make up what happens).

The only possible problem I see, is that Mjarin wanted to conquer the whole world under a new empire, it seems, not to completely destroy it, as the leveler is supposed to do. So that would make him less of a leveler. But whatever, we can live with that.

I doubt anyone will read this, but I'll revel in the fact that I have the last word ;-)
