It's been a while since I played Myth 3, but here's a few brief pointers for fighting Iron Warriors (or Trow in general, for that matter).
1) Stay together. Trow will quite happily slaughter any unsupported unit. Do not attempt to do hit-and-run attacks with your Dwarves, as the Trow will outrun them. Operate in a mutually supporting Phalanx, and the Trow can be brought down.
2) Stay calm. Though your Dwarves are capable of causing the most damage to the Trow per second, you must /not/ allow them to continue their bombardment after your melee units have entered combat. By the same token, if you're going to commit your melee units to close combat with a Trow, don't do it by halves.
3) Stay determined. One way or another, you will almost certainly take casualties when attempting to bring down a Trow. You must not allow this to deter you, as any hesitation on your part will only cause the Trow to inflict still greater damage.
With regard to the Rod of the Calliach itself, as I recall, it's roughly West-North-West of your starting position.
