In Response To: Re: Myth II Soundtrack (Seraph)

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I did indeed lose the fan fiction. I believe I wrote it on an Apple Powerbook 5300. Might've been the one we got after that... I think my parents finally tossed all the old laptop bricks so I won't ever remember.

I always enjoyed the limited number of units and using manuevering and clever use of units (which is why Myth is a tactical game) over churning out units and endless attacks. One of my best feats was in the days I only had the Myth: TFL demo (I actually bought the $5 demo, no I didn't keep it :\). My second favorite, still to this day, unit is the berserker, so I used one to kill everything at Bagrada, I mean everything. From the starting waves of thrall and soulless, to the recon myrmidons, to the trow at the end (though that cost me almost, if not all, my warriors).

I haven't played through WC3 as the demo did not engage me very well. I prefer to play the original and it's sequel. Something about the style of those old games trumps the new one.

I will say I thought it was just about the coolest thing ever when I saw Balor's headless body spraying blood up into the air. And they say young kids shouldn't play M rated games...

: Like why Alric wore a dress (pardon, robe) in Myth TFL
: but doesn't in Myth 2?

Dresses were no longer in vogue.
I imagine as king there may have been a ceremonial set of armor traditionally worn by those on the throne. It looks very different from any armor seen on other friendly units or other enemies, eastern (to us) in design. Closer to the Heron Guard armor than anything else, but they seem to be wearing wooden armor.
