: yeah. i still play myth 2 just because there aren't
: enough good games, and occasionally i mess around with
: fear and loathing, making a mortar dwarf that can
: shoot timed satchel charges, but really most people
: stopped when the mill closed and there was no
: contingency plan to replace it. now we have the tain,
: but all it says is soon...
: myth 3 could have made some good discussion topics, but i
: felt that it wasn't really myth. the journal entries
: didn't feel desperate the way the ones in myth 1 and 2
: did, maybe just because we knew the world didn't end
: already. that is the trouble with prequels. they could
: have just made a sequel and changed the plot and names
: and already it would have been a better game.
: i am still here after all these years. i wonder if doom
: and seraph still drop by?
: Gothmog
Yes and no, regarding Seraph.
I haven't completely ignored this site...but as stated earlier, there's not much left to talk about. So I haven't posted much, or even taken a look lately, not counting just now, to be entirely honest.
Regarding Myth 3...is there anything in it, in terms of say...individual flavor texts, that might bring up something besides a tired arguement? Not necessarily the "Myth Truth", just something worth trying to understand.
To be realy honest, I wouldn't mind a discussion on some old TFL era stuff. Not a "What really happened based on these clues", although if there's anything to work with that would be good. But some new fan fiction would be interesting. I'd write something, but that would take a topic, and "Yet another battle against Balor" is not enough to spark it.
Seraph
P.S. Regarding Myth 3 failing to be as good as we would like: It isn't just a failing of prequels...it is that we don't have the sense of the gallant soldiers of the Legion against the unstoppable horde. We have a Conan type of character as the "hero of the Age", not the strange and fascinating mix of dark horror and heroic fantasy that makes Myth amazing. But that may be opinion disguised as fact.
