My question is about the Legion. Is the Legion the name given to the organised forces of the Light, or does it refer to large fighting units as used by Ancient Rome. The reasons for my asking of this question is because there is evidence that suggests both of these uses.
In "Shadow of the Mountain" in Myth TFL, the Legion's standard that you have to defend is very similar to a Roman Legion's standard, including the number 'X' meaning ten which tells us that there are at least ten legions. This is the first time in the myth series that a legion has been mentioned as a sperate unit. Also in Myth TFL, Warriors in different levels wear different colored tunics. This could symbolise which Legion that they belong to, on the other hand it could be the colors of the region of the world that they are based in.
In Myth 2 in "The Great Library" journal entry, it states that 'King Alric ordered the Seventh Legion through the World Knot to Scales.'This means that the Legion(s) existed during the Soulblighter war as well as during the war against the Fallen. However, this is the only time that the Legion is mentioned in Myth 2 as an existing force. A similar unit that is mentioned in Myth 2 is the Color Guard asmentioned in the journal entry for "Beyond the Cloudspine"
'Our sergeant, Garrick, says he saw the commander and half of the color guard running like hell.' It is my belief that the Color Guard is the small army of the light that patrols and protects the villages north of Forest Heart. The Warriors of the color guard are different from those of the Legion because they wear plain coloured tunics, each a random colour for each individual soldier.
If anyone has any idea about the answer to my question or has anything to add just post it up
