I just decided to read up on the news that I've missed, since apparently something really nasty is going on and I wasn't aware of it. Anyway I noticed the bit about Mumbo Jumbo being alive and thought I'd chime in with some clarifying info.

Mumbo Jumbo never shut down, folded, went bankrupt, or any such thing like that. Rather, all of the actual content-producers at the Irvine office (the people who made Myth 3) were fired when that office was shut down, and all that was left was their Dallas office, which was in fact no true "MJ" office at all but rather a part of the United Developers (boo hiss) building, the Take Two subsidiary conglomerate that claims to have created virtually every game out there. (I know cause when you call them, a UD operator answers the phone; they even did back when Irvine was still open). "Mumbo Jumbo" was (for a while at least) operating as nothing more than PC to Mac a porting house within UD, who did the work porting games like Giants, Sacrifice, and I think AvP Gold as well. (I accidentally wound up in their beta program trying to sign up for the M3 beta. Giants and Sac are pretty damn cool though, I'd highly recommend them).

When they started making card games and arcade games and if they actually have an actual office employing actual developers actually making stuff, I don't know. It looks like they're just reselling, repackaging, and possibly porting old Activision crapware titles anyway. Why they bothered to keep this porting house and some cheesy arcade developer under the Mumbo Jumbo name is way beyond me. I've always said, [censored] the [censored] publishing conglomorate system anyway, and T2, GoD, UD, and all of those [censored]wads represent to me the epitome of that system. As I recall there is one person somewhere in there whos basically at fault for all this, but I don't remember the guy's name anymore. If anyone knows who I'm talking about, or has a street address or GPS coordinates that I can use to target the particle cannons, let me know would you?
