mauls and oghre

i've got an interesting question, this is for people who've played Myth III and II, i know the all the Oghre were killed in Myth III, but they look remakably similar to Mauls. My theory is maybe a small band of Oghre fled to the Blind Steppes a lived there in isolation from their former Trow enslavers, and during the War with Soulblighter, were found and recruted and renamed the Mauls. it's possible...
