Fetch in Shakespeare?

In the conflated edition of King Lear, act 2 scene 4. line 87, Lear uses the phrase "mere fetches", which in the contextual notes is defined as "pretenses".

Don't know if this has been mentioned before.

Fetch travel under the pretenses of men to disguise themselves... yeah it's a little weak but the reference is still there :)
