Question about the great devoid

I have always wondered why the Great Devoid blew up like that at the end solo mission in Myth TFL, (not neccessarily blew up...but why that laserish light flew out of it) did a dwarf stick a detonator on the helmet so once he let go it would blow up? or did balor have such a bad headache that...anyway, I personally have no idea and the whole idea has made me pretty curious.

I have one more quesiton about the whole narrator identity section in the delusions page...is there a discussion to the Myth II narrator as well (has one already been discussed) or is the TFL narrator the primary person to being argued about?
