Ok, I have a hypothetical question for you all. I'm starting a GURPS Myth P&P RPG locally, and since I know none of the players read this forum I can safely ask away here. Hell, this could even turn into us sort of playing another version of it here, in a round-about higher-level way.
For a basic premise background, read Principia Mythica.
So, sparing you all the details (they've been posted here before, search the archives), say sometime over a year or so after M2, the Fetch have managed to unleash the Callieach, avatara of the Old Gods, upon the world, and they are dead set on destroying all of Wyrd's and Nyx's creations and setting things back the way they were. The forces of the Light ally against them, as do the Trow, and even a good number of normally Dark forces (Myrkridia, who are still Wyrd's creation, and are at least lead by semiintelligent beings; and various sentient undead like Myrms and Shades and their associated armies).
When this happens, the Avatara greatly increase their search for the Dreams of Wyrd, so that one of them can become the Avatar of Wyrd and do whatever comes after that, which is presumably a good thing. One of the younger members has the brilliant idea of going to the Ents, who are Wyrd's oldest creations and presumably would know about as much about the history of the world as the Trow do. The Ents, it turns out, do know the locations of quite a good number of Dreams, and so this Avatara is well on his way to figuring out the One Dream.
The problem, as the Trow reveal, is that the world is only the way it is today because Nyx put them there to screw up Wyrd's world and, more importantly, because the One Dream got broken and Wyrd couldn't do anything about it. If Wyrd were to be empowered again, he would destroy the mess that the world had become and recreate it as he had intended it!
It seems either way we're screwed. If we let the Avatara and Ents go through with their plans, the world as we know it will be destroyed, but Wyrd will win. But if we stop them, the Old Gods will take their planet back, and again the world will be destroyed. And all we have are a big chunk of the Cath Bruig Empire (all the normal Light races), an assortment of self-interested Krids and Undead, and the last of the Trow. Versus the most powerful Avatara ever, all the Light people he could convince to his side, the entire race of the Ents, and an army of Fetch and giant spiders... and oh yeah, a bunch of the only things Trow have ever been scared of, Callieach.
So, what do you do?
