: Again, as I said in response to the original theory, I
: seriously doubt that a personage not even invented
: until years after the original game was released can
: suddenly be made into some kind of demi-god. It is
: impossible for Mjarin to be what corrupted Balor,
: and just as impossible for Mjarin to be what
: corrupted Tireces. He didn't even exist as the
: vaguest, tiniest, most basic idea, in ANYbody's head,
: let alone those who were making the game, when the
: game came out! That means that he can not , in any
: wise, be what the authors intended to have corrupted
: Connacht and Tireces! Thus, he cannot possibly be
: the Leveller Deity, or any other such being! For
: heaven's sake, it's just common sense! Another thing -
: exactly when did any body confirm that Damas corrupts
: Connacht (or convincing Connacht to become corrupted)?
: I find that extremely unlikely; Connacht wanted very
: desperately not to become the leveller, and I
: somehow doubt that even, say, his mother's ghost,
: could convince him otherwise, let alone his
: subordinate! . Finally, it (or maybe the Head) says
: that the Head is an old enemy of Balor. If we can
: trust that it's not lying about that much (and it
: certainly seems to be independent of either side to
: me), then how on earth could it "influence,"
: as you put it, Balor?

If you ignore metaknowledge (ie that we know all this stuff about who wrote what games and what is canon) and go by the strict legal canon of all the newbies who came in with Myth 3, it's actually a pretty sound theory. If Bungie had written Myth 3 and Mjarin was their character, I'd probably even be backing it. But because I know exactly who Mjarin is - a figment of Scott Campbell's imagination (no offense Scott) - we can pretty much discard it. But it's a good theorizing.

: Soulblighter's death has nothing to do with the
: "breaking" of the cycle! If Soulblighter
: hadn't been killed, that probably would have
: "broken" the cycle more than his death! If
: anything "breaks" the cycle, it's Balor's
: demise, not his general's!

Actually Soulblighter's victory would have set the cycle straight. Remember, Moagim the first died too; but the Light still lost. Balor's death isn't the thing that broke the cycle, Alric's survival to continue saving the world from people like Soulblighty is.
