In my frequent readings, I came across something interesting. The Myrmidons were actually greek warriors. These same Myrmidons fought with Achilles at Troy. They are referred to as soldiers that obeyed their orders without question no matter how gruesome or morally wrong the orders were. Myrmidon is still used to describe someone as a subordinate that follows orders unquestioningly (sic?). I was thinking that maybe the myrmidons were created in Myth based on that definition- following Balor without question. Then Mumbo Jumbo created their own definiton about the name in MWA about them attacking and killing mykridia (sic?). I just thought that that was interesting. If i can I will see if i can get the whole passage about them from Bulfinch's Mythology, which if you want more info that is the book to read.
