One thing bothers me for a long time:
How is it possible that Legion has travelled more then 2000 miles under combat, and (according to journal writer) suffered almost no attrition losses?
For example, Legion spent two weeks in Dire Marsh under constant fighting, and there's no notes about terrible conditions (mosquitoes, rain, mud, water all around...). I think that Legion should have suffered at least 50% (of the whole number of troops) casualties due to disease, weather and lack of food.
Hannibal, the Carthaginian general, suffered between 1/3 and 1/2 casualties on venture through marshy area around Arno river in Italy, and trip lasted for three days. He himself lost an eye.
