The Cities of the Province (for the fanfic)

I've started scribbling the prologue in my Myth fanfic, but since I want this fanfic to be as enjoyable as possible, I'm going to ask opinions on certain things. The thing I'd like to know right now is, about the cities. Hoe big do you think they were, what kind of population did cities like Tyr or Covenant hold? Some parts of the story will be centered on three cities: Tyr, Madrigal and Tandem. So what do people see as far as these citie - and other cities of the province as well, are concerned? Would Tyr have held 20,000 people before it fell? Did Madrigal? What would happen with Tandem, since it was the only large city which hadn't fallen yet?
I'd really like to see what you guys think. It would really help me! Thanks a lot!
