: Did any unit have the effects that the Trow and the Fetch
: did on Myth I on Myth II?
: It seems like even units that would be scary were less
: scary because we had survived the trow and the fetch
Posted this in a new thread, as its really a new topic/theory whatever. Sorry about the duplication in the thread below.
The first time I saw a myrmidon watching me as I tried escaping from Covenant - that was a tad scary.
Which brings to mind something that Welly and I were discussing a week or three ago... what happened to the myrms?
There's several (boring and probably correct) theories of course. a) They all died when Balor did, as his magic was needed for their immortality, b) most died with the big explosion in Rhiannon, the rest scattered to wild places or were hunted down.
But we had a better idea. Their bodies fell apart until nothing remained, but they lingered on, unable to die due to Balor's spell. Lurking in the dark woods and caves, they were evil, gnawing spirits of malice and regret, hating all living men yet unable to harm them.
Along comes Soulblighter. Calling all evil beings to himself, he empowers the shadowy myrmidons, giving them the terrifying ability to seize a man and drain his very life from his bones. Yes friends, Welly and I propose that myrmidons are none other than mahir in Myth 2...
cheers
