Looking for a the story

I've looked everywhere. There is a story, I thought it was Celtic, but it may be Gallic, about a couple who fall in love, but there is a spell put on them by an evil witch so that by day he is human and she is an animal of some sort and then at sunset, she is back to human and he is made into an animal. Much like that old movie 'Ladyhawk', but the animals were different. Can anyone help me find the original story?
