Hi! Plus: Watcher Mazz thins

Well, I've broken my promise not to return here until I would play through Myth III. Since I have not been able to get my hands on a Mac copy that functions properly, and because I was only moderately impressed with the PC version, I figure I'll return to home sweet Asylum. I've included a theory I've been thinking about in the spare time I've had.

It has never been proved that the Watcher was ever "possessed" or "inhabited" or whatever word you choose, by the Leveler. Because of this, we may assume he hasn't been possessed yet, so I can legitimately continue with this theory.

Being a man of intense Darkness, one can assume that perhaps the Watcher sought to be "possessed" or "inhabited" by the Leveler, because of the shockingly huge amounts of power he would then receive. Although the Leveler seems to completely take over its host, it is possible that the Watcher, in his esoteric knowledge of many things Dark, knew of a way to be conscious during the "possession" or "inhabitation". Thus, his ultimate goal all along *could* have been to be possessed by the Leveler. Since there is no hard conclusive evidence refuting this theory so far (that I am presently aware of, of course), I will go on.

If then, this possible ultimate goal of the Watcher was to become the next Leveler, how would he go about doing this? The answer would be: to eliminate all other powerful men from the world, to Narrow the choices of the Leveler diety.

Who would be foremost on this list? Mazzarin. Judging from this hypothesis, it can be safe to say that the Watcher killed Mazzarin for the main (if no the sole) purpose of gaining the mantle of the Leveler. Not simply because Mazzarin was Light and Bahl'al Dark, nor because he considered Mazzarin an immediate threat to himself. Mazzarin simply stood in the way of his goal.

However, the Watcher isn't perfect. Despite his elimination of Mazzarin, we all know that the Leveler chose an individual that Bahl'al missed. What can this mean, besides the obvious implications?

It means the death of Mazzarin might have been in the end a victory for the Light.

How? If the Watcher hadn't killed and shadified Mazzarin, Mazzarin might have been the next Leveler. With Mazzarin's knowledge and memory of the Nine Avatara and the resources of the Light, the Leveler could have wreaked more havoc and caused more chaos than ever before seen in the lands of Myth, the likes of which could very possibly have been irreversible. Consider a Leveler Mazzarin, and the destruction he could cause. Personally I understand the Leveler Mazzarin as the fatal blow to the Light, the deliverer of the permanent Dark Age.

Thus, the death of Mazzarin at the hands of the Watcher and his seven waves of Thrall in the end allows the Cycle to turn in favor for the Light, as it did in Myth II, and prevents the Leveler Mazzarin from ever coming into existence.

But there might be more: this particular part I will add for consideration, but not as an integral part of my theory. What if Mazzarin saw his lethal potential as a possible host of the Leveler, and what it would mean for the Nine and the Light? Perhaps he allowed himself to be killed by the Watcher, so in the long run, it would be a victory for the Light as I explained.

Of course, like all these kinds of theories, they're contingent upon certain un-provable conjectures, the ones specific to this hypothesis are noted.

So, besides the noted un-provable conjectures, what other variables/factors would prevent one from possibly looking at this theory as plausable? I'm happy to be back and would love to be ripped to shreds :)
