This theory could work on how Alric knew so much after his interogation by Balor. I read some books recently. The Riddle-Master of Hed, The Heir of Sea and Fire, and Harpist in the Wind. In the Riddle-Master, Morgon is captured by Ghistsewhilchom(something like that), and in The Heir, we find out details about his captivity. It says Alric was interogated, but it doesn't say how. We know Balor has lots of magic, so he could do this. See, Morgon's mind was searced through, like it was a movie. But it worked both ways. He also rifled through parts of Ohm's mind. Eventually he escaped by wresting power and knoledge from Ohm's mind (though he also could take the shape of a tree of a vesta, a beautiful moose like animal). But he got lost of power and knoledge. But this is important. Ohm had erlier established a wizard's college, Lungold , where he taught some things to the wizards. Eventually he destroyed the college when they realized he was teaching them lies and revolted. Lungold, Cath Bruig. But, another piece of relevant info comes to light. Ohm was pertending to be the High One, the ultimate power. Lungold was just a play for power. Maybe Cath Bruig was to. But we know Balor also has some goodness in him. So maybe he didn't want to destroy Cath Bruig, but when the people found out they revolted. Maybe he just wanted to be like Wyrd, only more active but the citizens don't know that. His head was buried under the city and his body dumped fare away. They might not have told about the deception because of shame they could be hoodwinked.
